In 1992, the Shepaug Railroad Company was established by a retired army officer as a family-owned and run, customer-orientated hobby and model train railroad store located in Depot Square, Leominster.  More specifically, located in the old train station that originally began service as part of the Fitchburg Railroad.  The business quickly grew and branched out to online sales as HalfPriceHobby.com in 2008, offering many products routinely discounted 40 - 50% off with new deals added on a regular basis.  The website now sells goods nationwide, as well as Canada.
